Yes, scientists are making lots of progress. Many types of cancer are no longer life threatening whereas 20 years ago many more people died of them (like breast cancer). I am confident we will continue to find treatments.

Yes, we will beat cancer no matter what. We came a long way in the past 10 years, we may not completely cure it but at least we find ways to stop it.

Future of cancer will benefit from synthetic biology. Soon scientists will synthesize a brand new cell with cancer. The problem now, is that we really don’t know what is going inside the cell! But imagine that we create our own cell with cancer, now we can study the patterns in it because we designed it! The challenge is to have a variety of cancer disease, it is just difficult to solve them all-at once but who knows?? Maybe there is one reason that leads to all types of cancer? No matter what, we-will-beat-cancer!

Well there are already many cures for cancer- radiation therapy and surgery can remove whole tumors so that a person no longer has cancerous cells in their body. There are also drugs that can halt the advance of spreading cancer cells. However, these treatments aren’t always effective if a patient’s cancer is too far advanced and has spread to many regions throughout their body. I don’t know whether we can find a cure for this advanced stage of cancer- I’m sure by conducting more research into cancer cells and the nature of cell growth and death, we’ll be able to gain a much better insight into the nature of cancer. I believe that cancer therapy researchers are making a lot of progress in this field and I’m confident that we will one day develop the technology or the knowledge to treat cancer even when it’s at an advanced stage.
