No – the money needs to be spent on popularizing our science and I’m very excited about the possibility of reaching more people with my research. I think life on early earth is a fascinating topic that doesn’t get enough attention.

I don’t think we’re allowed!! I think the two things I’ve put in my profile are important though. Our exhibition stand could do with a bit of renovation!!

I’ve been thinking about this and I’ve decided that if I win I’d like to donate the money to the Bristol Dinosaur Project which aims to educate local people about their own evolutionary heritage and Bristol’s very own dino Thecodontosaurus! So I guess it will go there 🙂

Well… I want to go to Galapagos Island, that is where Darwin first initiated this evolution theory. I am no Darwin but I would like to experience the Island and see the diverse creatures living in it, very exciting!

      — but after reading the answers of other gals, I realize that I am not allowed to… hmm.. not remember reading anything like that but I am sure an eye-opening experience is always good for the sake of science?– will come back to this question after making sure what’s going on!

Good question – we haven’t had many questions on what the money will be used for! No, I think the point of the competition is to use it to communicate science. My plan would be to create a small touch screen exhibit at Marwell Zoo, so that zoo visitors can learn about how we are working with the monkeys. We are training crested macaques (monkeys from Indonesia) to operate touch screens and voluntarily take part in cogniitve experiments.
