I stumbled into the career to be honest – I saw an advert for a PhD position, applied for it and got the job. So I was in the right place at the right time!

I really loved having the opportunity to ask questions about the world and being able to answer them by performing experiments and collecting data. Also- I took opportunities as they came. Perhaps if other opportunities had cropped up in my life I’d have taken those and ended up somewhere quite different!

Well I tried a lot of things and being a scientist was by far the most challenging and the most rewarding, hands down.
