• Question: when u have hickups when u scare some one how does it stop the hickups

      Hiccups are caused by an involuntary contraction of the diaphragm, which is a big muscular barrier between the lungs and the lower body organs (stomach, liver etc.). If you shock someone this causes us to breath in and tense the diaphragm, which can cause the little contractions to stop!
