My first ever job in science was a postdoc position after my PhD. I loved it, but have learnt lots since then!

My first ever job in science was looking at the behaviour of microscopic worms called nematodes. I liked it a lot actually even though I got a bit squeamish at times. They are such interesting animals despite being so tiny you can’t see them without a microscope! Great experience!

My first proper job was my PhD. I loved it and I’m only just finishing up now. I think I have come a long way since I started it though. I;m much more confident in the lab and when I’m talking about my research and i know so much more now too!

My first job was working as an intern in a German cosmetics company. I liked it. That time I wanted to be in business, I thought it was pretty cool. I rotated in several parts of the company and surprisingly I liked the lab research and development better. Next year I got a summer fellowship from the USA to work in a medicinal institute as a researcher and here I am now 🙂 I think I came a long way since then, but there is whole lot more to go, I know, and that excites me more than anything…
