Vitamins are chemicals (organic substances like acids, salts) that organisms need for survival. Organisms don’t get energy from vitamins, but they need them for different processes in the body. Organisms tend to only need them in very small amounts, which is why it can be easy to miss them! Lots of people take pills of vitamins because they worry that they don’t get enough in their diet. This can work for some people, but the best way to get them is through what you eat! Fruit and veg, and fresh stuff.
