yes, life is still evolving. by definition evolution means change. change happens when there is pressure. yet anything that triggers change triggers evolution. you may not become another creature the next day but our molecules and nature keeps evolving every second.

Yes! Evolution is about being adapted for your environment. If your environment changes- you will either be well or poorly adapted to survive in it. A good example in our recent history is the ability to be able to digest cow’s milk. Can you think of any other adult organisms that drink the milk of another organism?! Most mammals loose the ability to digest milk when they reach adulthood. However, when we started breeding cows we started to consume their milk as a dietary supplement (calcium is good for you!). We evolved the ability to digest the proteins in cow’s milk and this was a good adaptation since it helped us maintain nice healthy bones throughout adulthood! Interestingly many Asian people can’t digest cows’ milk and it’s believed this stems from the fact that they never really bread dairy animals like cows as much as early Europeans did. So, even though the changes are pretty subtle- we are still adapting to our environment. We are evolving.

All the while there is variation, competition and inheritance, there will be evolution!
