Thanks for the question. I wanted to be a scientist since I was 6 years old – that’s when I saw my first dinosaur skeleton in a museum and decided that dinosaurs are awesome and I want to learn more about them.

I was 19 when I started studying science. Before that I was a journalist (in training!)
I always liked science in school. I especially liked physics but I also loved English so it was hard to decide what to do when I left school (in Ireland we leave a little earlier than in the UK, I was 17). It varies so much from person to person. Its always nice to know what you want to do when you leave school and to have a plan, but its also good to know that you can end up doing something you love even if you take a wrong turn at first!

      Hi!

I always liked science at school, especially biology! But I never really knew what I wanted to do until much later, after University. I was lucky because I had achieved good results so it was easier to have more options about what I wanted to do. Which is why it can be so helpful so work hard at school – it just gives you more choices.
