      Oooh I’m not sure I should answer that…at the moment I get £1,000 a month which is not a lot but is enough to live on comfortably. I think if I had a family to support I would be in trouble but the salary goes up as you get further and further in the field.

      I can’t give the exact amount since I don’t know who may be reading here, but in the USA the post-doctoral salary ranges from $35,000 up to $50,000. I am glad that my salary is within this range 🙂

      I was getting paid between £12 and £15, 000 a year. Doing a PhD isn’t the best paid job in the world but hopefully the jobs you might find afterwards will make up for this! 😉

      Enough! More than many in the UK, but not as much as bankers…
