      They breathe through their gills, filtering the dissolved oxygen out of the water. Smart!

      Hi Joel! Fish breath underwater using gills on the sides of their heads! Water passes through the gills and passes over a load of blood-filled capillaries and this is where the oxygen exchange takes place. Sharks (the biggest fish in the sea) can never stop swimming because they rely on the motion of water passing quickly through their gills!
