As far as we know a particle of matter collided with a particle of antimatter and that caused a huge energy release which expanded incredibly rapidly to create our universe. That’s it in a nutshell anyway!

No one know exactly how the big bang happened. We have no evidence that can tell us how or why! All we have are guesses. What we know for sure is that the universe started from a single point, exploded and has been expanding ever since!

We are currently trying to find out if it will keep expanding or come back in again.

Not really my area…I could hash up a vague answer but I think you would be better off asking one of the others (who may have already crafted super answers…) or….google it!

Nobody knows the answer to this. One theory is that matter expanded and expanded and collided …. things happened. I am always intrigued by some young mind asking this question, who knows, maybe you’ll be the one who finds the answer!
