• Question: how come we can walk on custard but not water

      Have you ever tried to walk on custard?! I bet you would fall in! Even custard doesn’t have a high enough viscosity to support our weight. In fact I don’t think a highly viscous fluid would support us if we walked across it since all our weight would be concentrated into two small areas- our feet. I don’t think many fluids are viscous enough even to support us if we were to redistribute our weight over a larger area. I think that we’re better off sticking to solids to get from a to b.
