No, not at all. I think over-population is an issue, but there are many, many ways to tackle it that do not involve harming individuals. The ecomony needs to be structured so that people do not need to have lots of children to gain income (in the developing world children can increase your household income). Big question!

No I think wars are absolutely terrible! Being a scientist does not always mean that you should look at the world in a purely logical, indifferent sense- that sort of thinking only applies to specific questions and hypotheses you’re investigating in the name of research and to better understand the world. Wars cause suffering. I appreciate that the global population is staggeringly high and in some countries this is becoming a very serious problem. However wars are not the answer to that particular problem. Wars waste lives- they don’t regulate them.

No, no. That’s not the way to control the population (birth control is a more humane way for it). Wars have existed since humans beings existed but I think we are a rational generation now and we do not need wars anymore. It does nothing but making some countries rich and innocent civilians suffer.

      Hi Alice,

No I think wars are very bad! People should not be dying like this. The best way to keep the population down is family planning – giving people the opportunity to decide how many children they want to have.
