• Question: coud it be dangerous to mix different compounds?

      Of course! Lots of compounds, when mixed together, can cause explosions! That’s how people make bombs. The Chinese found that mixing certain carbon, nitrogen and sulphur compounds together they could make gunpowder, which they used to make cannons and grenades. Some compounds that can be
      used to make explosives are worringly easy to get hold of, which is what terrorists have been using to kill
      so many of our troops in Afghanistan. Mixing compounds can sometimes be VERY dangerous.
