Wow! we are getting a lot of physics questions (I like it!) The answer is that no one really knows if there are other universes. It is an idea that came about because quantum mechanics (QM) is so damn weird.

In QM lots of outcomes of the same event are possible. So if you walk on a banana skin you might fall over or you might just keep walking. If there are other universes, in one universe you would fall over while in another you would not.

This is of course possible but we have no way of testing this idea. For now we just have to guess!

The multiverse theory is popular right now. I’m not a physicist but I think that if the possibility of other universes exists then we shouldn’t discount it! Who knows- I could be a rock star in another universe!

I don’t know, I don’t think anybody does. But I sure hope so – it would be so much more exciting that way! 😀

Good question! Unfortunately, at this point no one knows. Stephen Hawking hypothesized the idea of a ‘multiverse’ (multiple possible universes) which also includes our universe. Multiverses contain everything that is ever required to form a physical life (energy, momentum etc). We don’t know if there is a single universe, a multi universe, a parallel dimension between universes or even, if other universes really exists at this point.
