• Question: This is a strange question, but i think it deserves and answer :) Why is it than whenever you hide somewhere, like for game you always need a wee? I thought that it might of just been me, but i have asked a few people recently and they said that it happens to them too. Is the excitement? or is it the nervousness? i really dont know..

Heh, interesting question! When you are anticipating something (like when you are hiding) and you feel nervous, your nervous system ‘prepares’ you for ‘fight or flight’. So your body is anticipating having to exert lots of energy very quickly, and so gets bodily functions out the way so you can do this. Tummy rumbling, urination etc., all these things are getting you ready for the thing you are waiting for.

Interesting. I think you might be right about the nervousness, although I think it is more likely the psychological effect of not being ABLE to go until someone finds you…unless you’re hiding in a toilet, which sounds like it might be a good idea for you 😉

ha ha- I love this question. I always find that when I’m trying to unlock my front door and I can’t find my keys I INSTANTLY need the loo. I thought I had an incredibly intelligent bladder that could sense a toilet was near! Perhaps it’s the sense of anticipation or nervousness as you’ve described that makes you think you need to go. When we hide we tend to crouch down- maybe your body thinks you’re crouching over the loo (although I doubt boys what have that problem so maybe not!). I think it’s probably a psychological phenomenon as you’ve described.
